The lyrics of "Más allá del sol" were offered in 1940 to the Seventh-day Adventists' pastor Xavier Ponce by Concepción Angulo an elder of the Seventh-day Adventists Church in Oatzacoalcos, Veracruz State, Mexico. Xavier Ponce asked his father Emiliano Ponce Sedano to enhance the original melody.

Many arrangements and interpretations of this song have been released since it was published, by musician from other Christian Churches and profane musicians as well. The most known versions are from Manuel Bonilla, Michelle Matius, Stanislao Marino (some of which shall be considered as "derived work" in credits because they have different identifiers and were probably published through agreements with the Inter-American Division of Seventh-day Adventists which is the copyright owner.
