Recoiled Extra

This release represents the "Recoiled Extra" CD-R included with some 26 sleeveless late copies of the "Recoiled" LP, the contents of which have been mirrored here. All 26 extant hand-labeled copies have unique disc art by Hyde which seems to be appropriative; specifically "G/26" and "L/26" use the cover art for cult classic PlayStation 2 game "Ico" while "P/26" seems clearly derived from this character study of The Joker by renowned comics artist Alex Ross.

"Sold via Danny Hyde's website. I believe he said he had some LPs with no sleeves, and so he decided to make something new as a way to unload them.

Regarding the CD-R, I believe they're new remixes by Danny. After trying to decipher a combination of his terrible grammar - the man can't write to save his life - and his mealy-mouthed descriptions of these tracks, the best explanation I could muster was that the tracks were made recently using "original elements," whatever that means. My personal guess is that, at best (and this is being generous), he & Peter toyed around with a lot of ideas when Trent sent over the multitracks. Some were discarded and then reworked recently by Danny, who did take a lot of notes on how he recorded stuff back then. (See the "Scattered Cross" track on the Black Light District reissue from Infinite Fog. Danny apparently re-recorded it for IF using the original gear.) At worst, he just pulled up the original multitracks and slapped together something for the people who pay top dollar for anything Coil-related. Either way, when I asked him about it, he wouldn't definitively say one way or another when these tracks were recorded and who exactly was involved. Make of that what you will."
