Beschreibung
Struck idiophone are ones where sound comes from striking the instrument and it as a whole vibrates, without the use of strings or membranes. Therefore these are most often made of sonorous material: metal, wood, glass and even stone.

There are two types:
Concussion idiophone is idiophone where the two pieces are hit together and both vibrate (think clapping).
Percussion idiophone is idiophone where one sonorous piece is hit with or against non-sonorous pieces (think slapping).
