An Evening Wasted With Tom Lehrer

There are two distinct versions of this release (and its compilations), based where they split Tracks 3-6 around Lehrer's commentary.

The earliest vinyl releases didn't define track times, but the Reprise releases (R 6199 and RS 6199), The Remains of Tom Lehrer, and some other compilations of the full album use times that include part of the (usually related) talk from Lehrer after a song ends.

The other version ends the track right at the end of the song, moving any talk to the next track. It's found on the initial CD release, the Spotify version of the release, and is the one downloadable under this title from tomlehrersongs.com.

The version is most easily recognized (without listening) by looking at A Christmas Carol (track 3). The version that ends with the song runs 2:39-2:50; the longer version runs 2:55-3:05 (variations are mostly from trimming of clapping and audience reactions). The other three tracks have less clear differences, but in general The Elements and In Old Mexico run shorter when A Christmas Carol runs longer. The changes to Oedipus Rex nearly balance out.
